The Blade design
The 80-90 inch blade was designed to ensure less energy consumption for each stroke. The outline, angle, dihedral and center spline of the blade is balanced with the purpose of creating a fast accelerating, easy-to-handle and efficient blade.
The angling ensures power in the stroke while allowing a solid grip on the shaft making sure the blade exits the water smooth and clean.
The central spline anchors the blade while the dihedral face provides steady power through the stroke.
The reduced blade thickness makes water entry smooth and decreases the extent of recovery, while the rib adds structure, strength and stiffness to the body of the blade.
SIC MAUI's description
To make a paddle that is just as technical and fast as SIC MAUI boards takes countless hours of design, R and D and testing. For 2016, we have reinvented our paddle line by focusing on the details so you do not have to think about them. New features for this year are ergonomic handle and shaft shapes, a completely new Battle Paddle, patented Lever LockTM adjustable technology in 2 and 3 piece designs, new adjustable youth paddles and all of this with our slick, new paddle designs:
